'Morphine Dawn' is a four track EP showcasing the talents of 15 Degrees Below Zero. 15 Degrees Below Zero formed from the ashes of the Imperial Floral Assault Unit project and features three members of that experimental outfit. Three IFAU members, Michael Addison Mersereau (18 Frames Per Second), Daniel Blomquist (Dai/The Twittering Machine) and Mark Wilson (Conure) started their own recordings in March of 2001. They have previously released music on the Crunch Pod label, which includes an out of print double CDR of live tracks. They have also been featured on the 74x13 compilation released on DTA Records. 15 Degrees Below Zero picks up where IFAU left off, continuing to produce a sound described by some as 'cinematic isolationist' and by others as a hybrid of dark ambient and industrial-noise soundscapes. 'Morphine Dawn' is a prelude to a full album that 15 Degrees Below Zero is currently shopping to labels, entitled 'Under A Morphine Sky'.
