Description
An Albatross: Edward B. Gieda III (vocals, percussion); Phillip Reynolds Price (guitar, organ, synthesizer); Daniel Schlett, Jack Lisowski (guitar); Marques Toliver, Karen Codd (violin); Barry Seroff (flute, shakuhachi); Jason Hudak (whistle, bass instrument, sampler, Theremin); Edward J. Rosenberg III (tenor saxophone); Kat Paffett (synthesizer); Steven Vaiani (drum, percussion); Christopher Abbott (drum); Dawa Riley. Personnel: Matt Boynton (recorder). Audio Mixer: Matt Boynton. Every few years a band like An Albatross surfaces. Well, there's actually no other band like An Albatross, but they are currently filling the all-important role of bizarre noisy madmen once filled by Mr. Bungle and Butthole Surfers. AN ALBATROSS FAMILY ALBUM is a twisted funhouse ride through grindcore, jazz, psychedelia, and almost anything else one could think of. For example, "A Convivial Feast of the Peace Beast" shatters the senses with its cartoon carnival organs and trashy metal guitars, and "Starving on Rabbit Meat" is an epic meltdown of ruined heaviness, like Deep Purple liberally dosed with some very bad acid.

Press Reviews
4 stars out of 5 -- "[B]lasting through cacophonous sonic landscapes populated by lurching organs, wailing synths and squealing peals of guitars....It's mildly threatening and a whole lot of fun. Alternative Press
