Description
After a break of 3 years Korn are back with their ninth studio album – “Remember Who You Are”. Having already shifted 32 million albums worldwide, this album sees Korn take a stripped back approach with no editing which harks back to their early days on albums like “Korn” and “Life Is Peachy”. The single “Oildale” has already been released and gives a great indication as to what to expect on this record.
Inspiration for the album’s lyrics and overall theme comes from Jonathan Davis’ need to live life for himself and not try to please others around him. The vocals on the album are stripped right back with Davis only using one track instead of the 4 or 5 vocal layers he has used before; this gives the vocals a rawness and emotion missing on previous CDs.
This is an album that should delight hardcore Korn fans as the band look backwards (in terms of production) to take them forward. Which is no bad thing.
