Description
She was a creative musical force on The Dream of the Manatee, Northern Lights and other new acoustic releases on the Gourd label. The Faerie Round is her first "solo" effort, as she accompanies herself on oboe, piccolo, flute, harp, whistle and English horn, mandolino and dulcimer. She is joined by a talented ensemble of musicians such as Neal Hellman, William Coulter and others, making for a delightfully contemporary sound that absorbs early music traditions from the folk world. The mix of tunes moves smoothly from O'Carolan to Handel, from traditional Scottish pieces to John Dowland, offering a blend that should appeal to acoustic new age music afficionados as well as folk and Celtic fans.
