Based on the best-selling novel by Arthur Golden, Memoirs of a Geisha recounts the story of a woman sold as a nine-year-old child to a geisha house in Tokyo. Her extraordinary beauty and intelligence carry her into a world of wealth, renown and political intrigue in the years before World War II, after which the world of geisha changed forever.
