Description
For the soundtrack to the third installment in the massively popular SHREK animated movie series, Dreamworks assembled another intriguingly eclectic set of pop/rock tunes. In addition to unlikely songs by Led Zeppelin (the propulsive "Immigrant Song") and Zep acolytes Wolfmother (the raucous "Joker & the Thief"), the album finds Eels mastermind Mark Oliver Everett, a regular on SHREK soundtracks, contributing the musical oddballs "Royal Pain" and "Losing Streak." Other highlights of the lively collection include Fergie's energetic take on Heart's "Barracuda" and a goofy cover of Sly & the Family Stones' "Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin)" performed by SHREK stars Eddie Murphy and Antonio Banderas.
