Description
Wynton Marsalis and Eric Clapton are two of the finest musicians of their generation. They join forces for the very first time on 'Play The Blues: Live From Jazz At Lincoln Center', released on September 12th
Over the years both Wynton and Eric have become legends in their own right, Wynton known for his amazing skill with a Trumpet along with his interpretation and re-interpretation of Jazz and Eric as one of the, if not THE greatest guitar player ever, you don't get the nickname 'God' by being average..
In 1987, Wynton Marsalis co-founded a jazz program at New York's Lincoln Center. In July 1996, Jazz at Lincoln Center was created. Over the years many greats have graced the stage at Lincoln Center but possibly none as great as the combine talents of Wynton and Eric.
The album was recorded in April of this year and will feature 10 tracks including an amazing version of Layla, with Taj Mahal guesting on two tracks.
Wynton will be playing some very special sold out dates at London's Ronnie Scotts on August 16th-20th and we are hoping for a very special guest at some of the shows. Promotion is currently being finalized but we are aiming to include a Radio 2 special
The album will be available as a single CD and a 2-disc set featuring both the audio CD and a DVD of the show.
