Clive Bell Clive Bell is a musician and composer specialising in far eastern musics. Clive studied the shakuhachi (Japanese flute) in Tokyo, and the khene (Lao mouthorgan) in Laos and Thailand. In 2005 he took part in the British Council Beijing project, Sound & The City, alongside Brian Eno, David Toop and Peter Cusack. Recently he has worked with Okeanos (contemporary music group), Jah Wobble, David Sylvian, Karl Jenkins, dancers Gaby Agis and Hanako Andou, Complicite Theatre, Sylvia Hallett, Kazuko Hohki, David Ross, jazz pianist Taeko Kunishima, and the BBC Singers. He has played on Jah Wobble's last 18 albums, plus records by David Toop, Frank Chickens, Paul Schutze, Jeff Beck, Bill Laswell, Karl Jenkins, Taeko Kunishima and Philip Clemo. He has composed music for theatre shows by Complicite, Kazuko Hohki, the Whalley Range All Stars and IOU Theatre, and for radio plays by Louise Oliver, Kazuko Hohki and Pomme Clayton. He writes for The Wire magazine. Roberto Filoseta Roberto started playing piano at the age of 10, receiving formal training between 13 and 17. He subsequently moved to jazz, and eventually further broadened his interests to encompass contemporary music. In the year 2000 he gained a degree in Electronic Music BSc (Hons), and has since then been engaged in a substantial research focusing on issues of theatricality in music and composition of 'New Music-Theatre' works. He received his Doctorate in 2006. Sylvia Hallett Sylvia Hallett studied music at Dartington, and then spent two years studying composition with Max Deutsch in Paris. She now works both as a composer and as an improviser, and has had pieces performed in Britain and Europe. She has played in many international festivals since the late 1970s, working with several well-known and respected musicians, including Lol Coxhill, Maggie Nicols, Phil Minton, Evan Parker, and the groups Accordions Go Crazy, British Summer Time Ends, The London Improvisers Orchestra, and the London Hardingfelelag. She also performs solo, (did a solo tour of Italy), and in duo with Clive Bell.. Projects with various theatre companies include collaborations with the dancer/choreographers Miranda Tufnell and Emilyn Claid, and the live art puppeteers DooCot. She has performed in a world tour with the Young Vic's highly accalaimed 'Grimm Tales', and she has performed in and musically directed The Royal Shakespeare Company's productions of 'Comedy of Errors', 'Tales from Ovid' and 'Canterbury Tales'. Commissions include incidental music for several BBC Radio Plays, most recently Two Men From Delft. Her work on Virginia Woolf's Kew Gardens received favorable reviews for it's innovative use of voice and sound manipulation.
