Praises Far I
Born and bred in Kingston, Jamaica, Adoni had a love for music from early on. He joined a band with his brother, and other than guitar, all the instruments were homemade right down to a drum set made of tin cans. The bass player from the Skin, Flesh, and Bone Band, Jimmy Aris, inspired him from the beginning. His encouragement and enthusiasm helped to guide Adoni to where he is musically today. At the tender age of thirteen, Jimmy Aris took Adoni to the Harry J Studio where he received his first hands on experience. Later, when Adoni immigrated to the United States, he found that one had to search very hard to find a studio that catered to reggae music. Eventually, he joined a band called Iheka Chama. Their first single recording, 'I'm Alive', was followed by the album 'Mandingo.' The band made several appearances at universities, clubs, and Rikers Island prison. Along the way, Adoni did some solo recordings with King Benji at the Tronic One Studio. He left Iheka Chama and joined the band, Malakai, as lead singer. Performing in stage shows all around the New York City area, Adoni managed to gain quite a following. Adoni has just released his first solo album, 'Praises Far I'. It is a mixture of lovers rock and culture music. As always, Adoni gives thanks and praise to the Most High God for the inspiration and protection through all his trials and tribulations.
