Aki Ishiguro Presents Rhetoric
Akira began playing the guitar when he was 12 years old. His talent and excitement for music was clearly apparent. There was a time when he took weekly lessons not only on guitar but classical guitar, trumpet, and piano. It was clear to Akira, however, that he loved jazz guitar. In 2002, Akira was accepted to Berklee College of Music with a scholarship. He graduated with a dual major in guitar performance and jazz composition. Akira has toured in the states as well as Portugal, Costa Rica, and Japan. He has since moved to New York City and has been active in the jazz scene. He has played with renowned artists such as George Garzone, Steve Davis, Chris Potter, and Sean Wayland. Akira's original contemporary jazz group "Rhetoric," which has been performing for over three years, have finally recorded their debut album.
