Orchard features original piano solos by Alicia Bessette, whose first compact disc, Reservoir, was hailed "brilliant" by David Lanz. Orchard is 46 minutes of contemporary classical solo piano. Each track swells with quiet intensity and emotional longing - perfect for relaxing or entertaining, creating or commuting, working or contemplating. Bessette's music is for the wistful, for those who are searching, and for those who simply want to enjoy each moment fully. Alicia Bessette is a self-trained musician and has been playing the piano since childhood. Her first compact disc, Reservoir, was released in 2002 and received rave reviews from artists such as David Lanz, in addition to Solo Piano Publications, Synchronicity Magazine, and Wind and Wire. Bessette performs her own compositions under the Wachusett Records label in collaboration with producer Benj Lipchak. Orchard and Reservoir are both published by Wekepeke Music (BMI). Bessette and her husband, writer Matthew Quick, have moved from central Massachusetts to the Philadelphia area, where they live with their retired racing greyhound, Stella.
