I was born in Belize City, which is in Central America. I moved with my wife to New York in 1986. I grew up in a culture where the music is mostly Soka & Reggae, but for some strange reason I found country music most appealing. In the early 1980's I worked as a part-time disc jockey at the local radio station. I learned to play guitar from a self-teaching guitar book and quickly learned to play simple and familiar folk songs. I believe God gave me the talent to write and sing for His Glory. Most of the songs on this album are original. One of the most enjoyable moments is when I am inspired to write a new song. After I became a christian in 1981, I had a desire to record a gosple album and finally God paved the way in October 2000 for me to record my first album, I am truly blessed by this. Special thanks to renowned producer and songwriter Scott Turner, who took the time to make this album a reality. I had always dreamed of doing an album in Nashville and I am truly grateful to the wonderful people who all had something to do with this project, their professionalism will not be forgotten. I am also grateful to Martha Carson who encouraged me to press on. 'I have been present in recording studios many times throughout my career, but, I must tell you, one of the most enjoyable visits has to be the one I was invited to in mid October, 2000, with this young christian artist Alvin Card. Believe me, here's a name you'll long remember. I felt so much spirit of worship in each song, I could only rejoice more with each song he sang. Put his music on, sit back and enjoy every word of praise, as I will, again and again. All I could add to this would be, may God's greatest blessings go with you Alvin Card, you're one of his chosen ones, this I believe with all my heart. Keep on singing, we'll keep on listening!' Most Sincerely Martha Carson.
