Matches in Gasoline
A new musical fire has been ignited with the release of Alycia Ercums EP, Matches in Gasoline. Through Matches, Alycia invites us to journey with her through four original songs that give us a glimpse into the strength, passion and poetry behind this driven, focused and intense new voice. At only twenty-one years old, Alycia is a seasoned performer, having played with regional, national and international independent artists and bands including Breaking Laces, Rachael Sage and Mieka Pauley. She has already received international industry recognition having been awarded the Billboard World Song Contest Honorable Mention in 2003, for her song, Simple. In 2005, Alycia was a finalist in the MENC BMI National John Lennon Songwriting Scholarship as a Finalist with I'm Sorry (I Don't Apologize). In addition to Alycia's remarkable performance, Matches in Gasoline features the production expertise of Chris Liberti (Breaking Laces) and Mark Ambrosino. The EP was recorded at Liberti and Ambrosinos private studios in New York City, and mastered at Sony Studios, New York. Fiona Apple, Regina Spektor, and Tori Amosthese are just a few of the strong female artists who have influenced Alycias songwriting. Matches in Gasoline brings her a step closer to joining them.
