Product Notes

'sleep songs of the bullhead' is a new album by Andy Harrington. It was written, rewritten, performed and recorded at cellar dweller studios in Brownsville, Vermont and mixed by David Baldwin and Andy Harrington. I Think About You I don't know when I'll see you again. That's just the nature of things. No I don't know when I'll see you again, But 'till then I'll be thinking about you. I don't know when I'll be back again. Hey, that's just who I am. I don't know when I'll be back again, But 'till then I'll be thinking about you. I think about you all the time I think about you day and night I think about when I'm happy I think about you when I am blue I think about you... © 2007 by Andrew Harrington All Rights Reserved Close The Door Ain't no time for dancing Ain't no time for lovey dove... No walks on the beaches With the ones you say you love... Ain't no time for that. Ain't no time for that no more. Ain't no time for that 'Cuz it's time to close the door... Ain't it funny baby How the time goes quickly by... You were running green And now the gray man's by your side... Ain't no time for that. Ain't no time for that no more. Ain't no time for that 'Cuz it's time to close the door... Oh I know, you don't want to go. But it's time, time to close the door. © 2007 by Andrew Harrington All Rights Reserved Crust of Bread Hey, I'm talking to you! I can see him in that cellar working on that new best seller working on one hundred years in solitude... how he suffered for that crust of bread but you would not suffer him a single crust of bread. Hey, I'm talking to you! I can still see him working well on in to the evening work became for all those years his saving grace how he hungered for that crust of bread but he would not beg you he worked harder instead. Hey, I'm talking to you! I can see him in that cellar working on that new best seller working on 100 years in solitude and he was hungry the day they closed his eyes leaving you alone with that single crust of bread. Hey, I'm talking to you. © 2007 by Andrew Harrington All Rights Reserved Lemonade It's not just the lemonade. It's not just the lemonade. No, it's everything, Everything that you ever made. It's not just the light that fades. It's not just the light that fades. It's everything, Everything that was ever made. I guess you thought that I'd be holding your hand For a while And then you turned and said That I would be there forever But that's not the case at all. No, that's not the case at all, My love Is gone... It's not just the lemonade. It's not just the light that fades. No it's everything, Everything that was ever made. © 2007 by Andrew Harrington All Rights Reserved Tight It's just a little tight It's just a little tight It'll be all right It's just a little tight And this recalls for me 1953 It turned out all right It was just a little Not a lot Just a little tight It will be all right It's just a little tight It happens on the beach 'Cuz the beach is out of reach It'll be all right Now don't you worry And don't you hurry It's just a little tight Neither black nor white It's just a little... It's been done before It's just another door to open That's just a little Just a little Just a little tight It will be all right. It's just a little tight... © 2007 by Andrew Harrington All Rights Reserved Mary Mary had a little baby, precious little baby girl. Just for kicks she called her Jesus. Just for kicks she got her head kicked in. 'Cuz you can't do that around here! No you can't do that around here! And you can't make light of what they hold as dear, No you can't do that around here! So she moved to a bigger town And hoped the furor would die down. Hate has a way of following around. It came at night and burned their new life down. 'Cuz you can't do that around here ... She was trying to have some fun, They said it was a crime They said she crossed the line, Just to have some fun. Now they took Jesus from her mother. And by they I mean the state. Leaving Mary all alone again, If this was my world I'd set this straight But, I can't do that around here! No, I can't do that around here. And I can' make light of what they hold as dear. No I can't do that around here. © 2007 by Andrew Harrington All Rights Reserved Beetle (and his Narrator) Narrator: Does anybody know what Beetle saw When his hand went through the table saw? I only know that I heard Beetle scream. Beetle: Does anybody know if love can save my hand? Does anybody know if love can save my hand? Can love save my hand? Narrator: Well, I only know that I heard Beetle scream. Narrator: Has anybody seen what Beetle saw When his head went through that table saw? I only know that I heard Beetle scream Beetle: "Machines are gonna be the death of me, yeah." Narrator: I only know that I heard Beetle scream: Beetle: Does anybody know if love can save my head? Does anybody know if love can save my head? Can love save my head? Narrator: Well, I only know that I heard Beetle scream! Narrator: I only know that love won't save him now Beetle as Elvis: I only know that love can't save me now (repeat) © 2007 by Andrew Harrington All Rights Reserved At the Fair At the fair, lots to do. At the fair, lots to see through, too. Like the man who is dressed in blue. Selling tickets for carousel, Shiny wheels that go nowhere At the fair. At the fair, a woman in yellow With a child, all in green. Unaware of that man in blue. And the things that he wants to do. Buy a ticket for carousel to ride At the fair. I like to pretend It never happened. I like to pretend It never happened I like to pretend It never happened at all. At the fair... © 2007 by Andrew Harrington All Rights Reserved Dancing In The Rain The trees outside his window were dancing in the rain. And he wanted to be out there but he was bleeding again... So he lay down on his bed, turned on the radio. When voices inside his head said it was time to go. Dancing in the rain... Now his mother's mascara ran with tears and stained The blouse he'd given to her to wear on such a day. Kneeling over his body, so small and blue and strange And choking with emotion she tried to explain Dancing in the rain... "It's just a silly notion, dancing in the rain..." Little boys all over town who heard the news Turned off their radios... I am still outside his window like the tree, Dancing in the rain... © 2007 by Andrew Harrington All Rights Reserved Too Much of Nothing Too much of nothing on my plate. The emptiness is too much to take. And too much of nothing, things fall apart. Too much of nothing breaks my heart. And I've had enough of this. I've had enough of this, yeah. I've had enough of this. I've had enough of this, Too much of nothing. And too much of nothing in Washington, D.C. So much deceit, it's beyond belief. Just like the stories in the sacred books With just enough of something to make you want to look. Well, I've had enough of this, I've had enough of this, yeah. I've had enough of this, I've had enough of this, Too much of nothing. It's like a broken promise, it's like an empty kiss. It's just too much of nothing, And I've had enough of this... Too much of nothing. © 2007 by Andrew Harrington All Rights Reserved Long Afternoon It's been a long afternoon In my blink-of-an-eye life. And I feel like it's June And June just doesn't feel right. Dull is the ache And nowhere the place, The sun is setting too high. And I don't know the score Or the name of this game Or where I was heading to Anyway. It's been a long, long afternoon. It's been a long, long afternoon. © 2007 by Andrew Harrington All Rights Reserved afterword If man has a soul it is the earth...
