As a pre-med student at Middle Tennessee State University and feeling the pressures of academia and life in general, Anna Foster picked up a guitar in May of 2005 looking for a creative outlet for her frustrations. Within three months Anna wrote her first song, and in less than a year she changed her major to music business and won the coveted "TKE Battle of the Bands" contest at the famous BluesBoro Rhythm and Blues Company in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Anna was born October 22, 1985 to David and Pam Foster of Columbia, Tennessee. She was introduced to music before she was even born, as her pregnant mother played bass and her father played banjo in a bluegrass band that toured the southern folk and bluegrass festival circuit. Anna began performing on stage herself at the age of three as a Suzuki violin student. Sports and school activities soon replaced the violin, but Anna remained an avid fan of a diverse variety of music - from rhythm and blues, soul, and classic rock to pop, hip-hop, jazz, and indie rock. This assorted background led to Anna's own sound, a melting pot of genres converging in a musical flavor uniquely her own. From the soulful and passionate "My Angels" to the sassy and upbeat "Firecracker," Anna hooks you with her mesmerizing voice and reels you in with her irresistible prose. In less than two years Anna has written over forty songs and has become a first-call talent for venues in the local area. Working with producers Gary Cirimelli and Ron Rigsby, Anna has released her first EP. Initial reviews are exceptionally positive and range from "Awesome" to "Incredible" to "I've never heard anything like this before". The project paints a broad stroke giving the listener insights into Anna's exceptional talent and creative ability. She is looking forward to the road ahead and welcomes you to join in the journey.
