Other Side of the Sun
With her powerful, soul-influenced voice and captivating stage presence, Annie has become an undisputed musical force for the new millennium. Her vocal ability has been compared to and is reminiscent of soul legends Aretha Franklin and Gladys Knight and funk divas Tina Marie and Chaka Khan. Still, Annie possesses a distinctive and energetic style that is uniquely and definably her own. From her soul stirring ballads to her adrenaline soaked dance tracks, Annie's voice and song writing is equally aspired and assured. Nominated twice for both 'Best R&B Vocalist' and 'Best Song' in 1993 and again in 1995 by the Washington Area Music Association (WAMA), Annie has proven herself an accomplished composer as well as one of the best R&B vocalists around today. Touring the East Coast, opening for National acts such as WAR, playing large festivals (National Captial BBQ Battle), concerts and clubs, Annie has amassed a respectable following in the DC Metropolitan area. Critical recognition and acclaim have been overwhelmingly positive regarding her release 'Other Side of the Sun'. Chris Slattery, of The Bethesda Gazette says, 'She sings like a cross between Lisa Stansfield, Celine Dion and Whitney Houston, with occasional ascension to Aretha-like heights.' 'Hers is delicious music, mostly songs that she has written...very sophisticated compositions that show off to great effect what can only be called a gorgeous voice.' - (Ray Lane of the Washington Times.) Susie Mudd, of Music Monthly Magazine says, 'She is known for her unique and unsurpassed energy. Annie really knows how to put on a show!' 2000 will prove to be a great year for Annie. She is currently working on her latest CD, and it's release is anticipated for 2001.
