All You Need
Blending Americana, contemporary and classical textures, Arthur Dobrucki reaches the heart of music through his solo piano works. On this third Azure Hills Music release, the songs explore themes of reflection, longing, hope, and ecstasy. Arthur Dobrucki developed his craft as a pianist with Spanish concert pianist Mariblanca de Pujadas who herself studied with Sergei Tarnowsky (teacher of Vladimir Horowitz) and Adele Marcus (pupil of Josef Lhevinne and Artur Schnabel). As a composer, he has developed a unique style that follows in the footsteps of classical composers while integrating contemporary influences and improvisation within his works. His keyboard work has been heard for over 20 years in Southern California. His performances have ranged from solo piano and chamber music classical performances, to musical theater including the Magnificant Moorpark Melodrama and Vaudeville Company, and over 500 performances in the 1980s with the rock band Dorian which was a local fixture on the Los Angeles club scene. Music from his prior two recordings, 'The Darkness and the Light' and 'Six Dance Episodes' have been featured on radio stations internationally as well as Whisperings Solo Piano Radio. Today, Arthur Dobrucki is resident pianist and organist at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Simi Valley, California and continues to be active writing new works for solo piano.
