Autumnred provide a welcome relief from the current surge of 'new this' and 'new that', 'post this' and 'post that' bands. Their music draws inspiration from early innovators including Pink Floyd and the Velvet Underground, and crosses over between that golden-era to the later driven guitar sound of the Smashing Pumpkins and U2. The result is a style that is something of a orphan child from a veritable rich gene pool of talent. Their music harks back to the wonderful days of 90's grunge-psychedelia-pop that gave the world Nirvana. Four members Lloyd Williams, James Drohan, Mikey Foulerton and Alex McCreedie have gained reputation as spontaneous performers of their increasingly energetic and captivating songs. With emotion and energy spilling from the stage, the eclectic mix of dedicated fans are testament to the power and scope of their appeal. Having shared stages with Martin Greetch, The Noisettes and Sara Jay of Massive Attack, Autumnred are steadily gaining recognition in and amongst the best the alternative UK music scene has to offer. This debut release showcases the band's honed songwriting abilities, melding melody into the unhinged chaos and walls of noise. More material is soon to be released, so be sure to check back soon. Take a look at their Website and MySpace page for more info, music and videos.
