Product Notes

Vocalist/Composer Barbara Perry has put out 'Show Me Your Heart', an attractive release that harkens back to the day when singer/songwriters ruled the airways. Expertly produced by Grammie nominated Chris' Big Dog' Davis, it features Perry's soft sweet voice resembling the late Nicolette Larson. The song 'Baby Come Back' is a soulful R&B song reminicent of Anita Baker. Catchy refrains abound on the title song ' Show Me Your Heart' . ' Like you Love Me is an exotic and enchanting Bossa Nova piece. Joyfully warm ' The Boy' includes includes some breezy flute that blends well with her optimistic tone, and the cabaretish ' Lonely Girl' includes some moody Sax played by Marty Q. The latter tune highlites Perry's ability to convincingly tell a story in the context of her song. Her song ' Let You Down' manages to be sad yet optimistic with some amazing harmonica work performed by Chris Davis. Whether in the context of a nightclub tune or with an r&b vamp as on ' I'm Gonna Love You' her voice is always assured and yet comforting..If you are looking for a fresh and refreshing singer with memorable songs you will find all of this and more with Barbara Perry singing her songs the way she wrote them. These songs could and should be some of the standards of tomorrow.
