Beavin Lawrence is a Brooklyn Born and raised saxophonist. Much of his early musical formative years were spent in and around many of the great artistic organizations that New York has to offer. Institutions such as the All-City music programs and the Brooklyn Conservatory. Lawrence attended the Jackie McLean Institute where he received a B.A. in jazz studies. Later completing a Masters from the Brooklyn College Conservatory of music, where he does ocassional assistant instruction. In New york he has played with some of the most influential artists around, Frank Lacy, Micheal Carvin, Charlie Persip and the Harlem Renissance Big Band to name a few.
