Founded seven years ago, Belle Voci presents professional productions of favorites from Broadway, Cabaret, Opera and Classical Art Songs to the general public. Belle Voci's artists are some of the most sought-after performers in New England. They have performed internationally in recital and have performed with many of the local and regional symphonies and opera companies. Not only are they dynamic entertainers, but they are educators as well - sharing their knowledge about the music, the shows and the composers with their patrons. Coming from varied backgrounds, they have developed a style that is unique to Belle Voci. Karol Carroll is the founder of Belle Voci. Karol has long been praised for her dramatic presentations, of which reviewers noted, "Karol Carroll commands the stage". Ms. Carroll has a wide range of performance experience on both the concert and opera stage. She has appeared with Longwood Opera, New England Light Opera, OPERAFEST! Of NH, Opera League of NH, Granite State Opera and Bel Canto Theatre. Locally, Karol has been a featured performer in the Walker Lecture Series presentation of Cordially Cole, Opera Circle's The Lyric Soprano, and many local charitable concert productions. Mark Andrew Cleveland has performed extensively on the east coast to enthusiastic audiences and critical acclaim, and was recognized in The Boston Globe's "Arts & Entertainments -The Best of 2002." A versatile performer, his repertoire ranges from chant to contemporary works and oratorio to opera. He has performed frequently in Boston with many distinguished organizations including the Cantata Singers, Boston Baroque, The Spectrum Singers, The Boston Cecelia, and Masterworks Chorale. Marta Ebel is a native of Los Angeles where she began her early music studies. Ms. Ebel continued studies in German lieder in Karlesruhe, Germany. Since moving to the east coast, she has performed as soloist with the New Bedford, Brockton and Quincy Symphony Orchestras and has appeared with Operafest of NH, Opera League of NH, Granite State Opera and Longwood Opera. Reviews have praised Ms. Ebel for being "sensitive and full of finesse". Christopher Porth began his singing career in 7th grade where his voice put his name into the minds of the teachers and performers of the El Paso Texas School system garnering him 1st place vocal awards for 5 years running. Since moving east, Chris has performed works ranging from Broadway to Cabaret, Oratorio to Opera. He has earned a reputation for playing vastly differing roles and for his versatility in portraying many dissimilar characters both in acting and in singing. One reviewer to noted "his voice was clear and true...his dramatic instincts were evident". Chris wowed audiences in his portrayal of Frank Sinatra in Belle Voci's "An Evening of Cabaret". Kathryn Southworth received a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from Oberlin Conservatory, and a Masters Degree in Vocal Accompanying and Coaching from the University of Illinois. While classically trained, she exhibits an uninhibited freedom in all genres including Broadway and Cabaret. She performs regularly with the Musicians of Wall Street at the Concord Community Music School, where she is currently head of the piano department. She has served on the piano faculty at Plymouth State College, and as a guest faculty in music theory at Dartmouth College. The fact that Kathryn, lives and breathes every note that is played inspired one reviewer to write that "she leaves her audience spellbound".
