PUSHmEpULLyOU is the debut rock EP from Brooklyn singer/songwriter/guitarist Bill Konig. Recorded primarily at 19th Street Studio in Park Slope, Brooklyn, pUSHmEpULLyOU is at once a musical culmination of sorts, as well as the start of a new artistic chapter which could aptly be titled, 'Bill Konig Dusts Off His Wings.' It combines the raw energy of NYC pop/rock quartet, The Blue Line - for which Konig had co-penned songs while sharing singing and six-stringing duties - as well as the more intimate, insular musings of a solo artist. The album opens with the galloping guitar rocker 'Sally Forth,' a song essentially about getting off one's arse and living each day as if it were the last, but without reckless abandon. The simple, yet haunting melody of 'The One' gently elevates the singer's biting wordplay on the theme of internal strife; a topic, no doubt, that hits close to home for many. Personal conflict is, in fact, a sinuous thread woven throughout the release. Aided by a talented cast of local musicians, Bill Konig has produced an attractive Little Rock record that will get stuck in your head, and your CD player!
