From the Album Liner Notes: September 25, 2006 Hidy Y'all This album was recorded on the run. We started out working at my place, then moved to Joe's nice, big, empty living room for drums and bass, and ended up at Jim's. Jim has a little studio over his garage which is great for sound, but there's no bathroom, and we had to turn the air conditioner off everytime we turned the mics on. So while this may not be truly live, we were going as fast as we could and sweating like hell, just like our live show. This album was recorded over four hectic weeks in September, 2006. Produced by Jim Hemphill Engineered by Jim Hemphill and Joe Stack All Arrangements by Billy Eli - Jim Hemphill - Joe Stack - Kenneth Welch Mixed by Jim Hemphill Mastered by Jerry Tubb at Terra Nova Digital Audio, Austin, TX Billy Eli - lead vocals - rythym guitar Jim Hemphill - lead guitar and others Joe Stack - bass - vocals - accordion Ric Furley - drums - vocals Michael Cerza - congas - bongos - percussion Reviews: Primetime slab of Texan barroom country delivered with a great hunk of flatbread and as much Lone Star as you can guzzle.. Good ole boys straight outta Austin, The Billy Eli Band play gritty Texan bar-room country that will have you out of your chair, stomping round the living room shouting "Take me to San Antone" with a mouthfull of scorching jalapenos. Full Review -- Americana UK Heavily influenced by Tom Petty (especially where singing is concerned), Billy Eli plays catchy-as-hell Country Rock. -- Eric Shea.
