After the Gold Room EP
The Black Watch, formed in Santa Barbara in the late '80s, has more ink than a small town phonebook: they've been favorably compared to My Bloody Valentine, The Cure, The Beatles, and New Order. This is their 14th CD. Now joined by Steven Schayer (ex-The Chills--yes, them, the New Zealand legends) on lead guitar, tbw are more psychedelic, more melodic, more powerful than ever. Trouser Press just gave the band an entry--and a mighty fine one it is, calling this Los Angeles indie pop stalwart group 'The most criminally underappreciated guitar band in America or the UK.'
