Rene Worst and Miles Black began working together in 1987 with the Ann Mortifee Band. In 1988 they toured the USSR with the Paul Horn Band. In 1987, Miles joined Rene's legendary fusion band Skywalk as keyboardist/co-composer. Since then, these two music veterans have toured, performed and recorded together in a variety of settings. Their great rapport is evidenced on this recording produced by CBC legend, Claire Lawrence. The resume of Miles Black reads like a who's who of Jazz greats. His collaborators include Paul Horn, Harry Sweets Edison, Christine Duncan, Dee Daniels, Skywalk, Glenda Rae, Brad Turner, and Houston Person, just to name a few. Miles commenced his professional career at the age of 14. He has toured throughout North America and Europe, winning converts everywhere to his fluid, highly evolved musicianship. Rene Worst has been a professional bassist since 1971. His virtuostic and supportive bass playing has been a Canadian treasure for many years on both acoustic and electric basses. He is as gifted on fretless as he is on acoustic - a rarity in the industry. Rene was educated both in Canada and the US. Rene Worst is one of the founding members of the noted fusion band 'Skywalk' and has anchored and produced six recordings with them. Rene has also recorded and performed with Paul Horn, Joe Pass, Herb Ellis, Larry Coryell, Charlie Byrd, Chet Baker, Ernestine Anderson, Mark Murphy and Canadian Jazz Vocalist Jennifer Scott to name a few. He is also a highly regarded Producer. Both Miles Black and Rene Worst are respected clinicians and private instructors and are available for clinics world-wide. This recording recently received a five-star rave review from JazzEnvoy and from the Vancouver Sun. It represents the finest performances from two of the most highly regarded and well-respected artists in North America.
