Bop Skizzum is a rock-to-the-bone funk band based in Denver, Colorado. Started by ubiquitous front man Andy Guerrero, Bop Skizzum has been delighting Denver audiences since 1999 with their trademark energetic style. Believing that genre bending musical experimentation that melds multiple styles is not only acceptable but in fact necessary, Bop Skizzum has become expertly adept at integrating the soulful sounds of Jazz, Rock, Funk, Hip-Hop, Punk, and whatever else pops into their heads, into a seamless, mesmerizing feast for the eyes and ears. Above all, Bop Skizzum is a family. Guest vocalists, emcees, horn players, and guitar players may turn up on any given night. In the vision of Parliament Funkadelic, the extended family of funky players provides a unique musical flexibility permitting the band to achieve a myriad of different shapes and sounds. At a Bop Skizzum show, an audience is just as likely to see a tight four piece as they are a ten piece menagerie. Bop Skizzum has been a staple in the Denver music scene since it's inception, and the band has played with such national acts as G Love and Special Sauce, George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic, Fishbone, Flogging Molly, Uncle Kracker, and Long Beach Short Bus. The band has also headlined numerous local shows at the Bluebird Theater, the Gothic Theater, the Walnut Room, and Benders Tavern. Devout in it's faith of the unifying power of music, Bop Skizzum believes it's divine mission is to spread love through the eternal crushing power combination of funk and rock & roll.
