Hi, my name is Brenda Wiley-Suddarth. I was born in Detroit, MI and was raised in Ecorse, a small town outside of Detroit. I graduated from Ecorse high and have a Bachalors degree in nursing. I am now a retired registered nurse. I come from a family of musicians and my husband, Jerome is a great bass player. I began singing gospel in our church choir at age 11. I fell in love with jazz at age 15 and began listening to Cannonball Adderly, Stanley Turntine, Nat King Cole, and many other great musicians. Oh yeah, I really loved Earth Wind and Fire, and still do. I started writing music about 20 years ago but never published anything. Over the last 30 years I have raised four children, and became a registered nurse. Now it's time for me. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night after hearing a song in my sleep. It's usually just a few bars, but I get up and hum it into my small tape recorder (the one I had in nursing school), then return to sleep. This CD contains four of the songs that were started while I was asleep. I hope you'll like them, Bren.
