Letter from Chief Seattle
From Chicago, Carol Williams has spent the past three years performing on tenor sax with Gary Sinise and the 'Lt. Dan Band', traveling worldwide with the USO. As a songwriter, this is her third compilation of songs, and the second with internationally-known drummer Danny Gottlieb. On piano, flute, sax and vocals, her intricate arrangements and high-end production create compositions that 'combine meaty lyrics with a folk song environment, and ensures that we catch her drift' (Jim Santella, All About Jazz). Indie-Music.com says 'Carol Williams is an unusual artist in the best sense of the term, a feminine throwback to the great Mose Allison'. Formerly a student at Berklee College of Music in Boston, she also spent 7 years with US Army Bands, as well as receiving a NEA grant for recording and performing.
