Review quotes: "..Jönsson has put together a fine quartet to interpret a set of original compositions that are thoroughly engaging, with clean grooves, lyrical themes and exciting solos. The quartet combines the best of the American and European traditions into a whole that is clearly more than the sum of it's parts." - John Kelman/All about jazz 'Jönsson's collective mix jazz voyages with a heavy dollop of groove, ECM atmospherics, and even some free improv. Jönsson focuses on soprano here, utilizing a sweet, yet no less charismatic tone..The group demonstrates it's commitment to riding a rollicking vamp on the opening Happy-Go-Lucky.' 'The quartet also manages to live up to it's "jazz" leanings with Jazzman, a tenor feature that demonstrates that these Swedes can swing. An engaging disc, Jönsson and his cohorts make music worthy of the "contemporary jazz" tag without the shame associated with it." - Jay Collins/One final note 'The music is often totally unpredictable, full of ideas and expressions, but all the time exciting, unique and not seldom very beautiful and melodic.' - Jan Olson/Skånska Dagbladet 'Cennet Jönsson is primarily a talented and intelligent composer and musician, and has a clear idea through all his work. He mediates tender and mature emotions with great energy and love for the style of music that, more than others, can create images. Cennet's art is ethereal and shimmering in cosmic sounds, wherein Jonsson's guitar is an important factor. But the whole group is so tight and together, that all you can do is to float on waves of happiness.' - Bo Levander/Jönköpingsposten Bio: The Swedish saxophonist, bass clarinet player and composer Cennet Jönsson was born in 1956.
