When most people hear or see an accordion they immediately think "Lady of Spain" or "Beer Barrel Polka". Charlie Kuchler has spent the last 20 years trying to dispel that stereo type. He blends Cajun, zydeco, blue grass, country, folk and rock & roll into a fun uplifting and entertaining sound called Florida Swamp Music. Along with his keyboard and accordion Charlie is a lifelong musician and song writer and, while in the popular Milwaukee based band Hat Trick, performed with C.J. Chenier, Buckwheat Zydeco, and Jimmy Buffett. He has performed at such venues as the House of Blues, Milwaukee's Summerfest and Ohio's famous Put-In-Bay. He has shared the stage with U-2, Cheap Trick, REO Speedwagon and others. Along with being an accomplished musician Charlie has also been a booking agent, national talent buyer and promoter. His talent agency, Back Yard Talent, is also available for entertainment ideas. In 2002 Charlie helped found the currently touring band The Yard Dogs, who play from Wisconsin to Key West. The Yard Dogs have recorded 5 CDs in 5 years. It has been during his tenure with The Yard Dogs that his song writing has developed and matured. He is responsible for nearly half of the band's original material and continues to add to the band's creative endeavors. In his solo act Charlie performs many of his own original songs along with obscure but popular cover tunes. He uses backing tracks that he has recorded himself, so what you are hearing is Charlie playing all the instruments. This gives him a real band sound that will make audiences want to clap and dance along. He also brings along shakers and noise makers so the audience can participate. He even invites people to be guest rub board (wash board) players. In 2008 Charlie released his first solo CD called "Living My Dream" and it is selling well. Charlie's newest CD "Freshly Squeezed" makes use of his home studio and broadcast quality production. This newest effort rocks. You'll be amazed at what Charlie Kuchler can do with an accordion. From a mellow ballad to Ragin' Cajun Rock & Roll, he'll hold the audience's attention for the entire night. He'll get the audience involved and asking for more. You'll always have a good time with Charlie Kuchler.
