Charlotte & Dea is a female duo from Sweden. They met while attending music school together in Skåne, the southern part of Sweden. After moving to Stockholm, they started working with American producer and songwriter Brian Hobbs. Their work together eventually led to this CD. Charlotte has a pure, clear voice and is very much influenced by Joni Mitchell and Shawn Colvin. Dea has a darker voice with a certain R&B flavor, which is not surprise since her biggest influence is Marvin Gaye. Together, their voices produce magic. The songs, although they cover the same ground as many contemporary songs, seem to find a new twist on love, as in 'Alabaster Nights' where a lover blames her heartache on the moon, or 'I Might be the One', where a 'taken for granted' lover lays it all on the line. All in all, a thoughtful, introspective CD, with intelligent, acoustic pop.
