Prior to meeting in the summer of 2003, musicians Casey Carlson and Nate LaHaie were independent singer/song writer/guitar players working on their own projects. Shortly after becoming friends, the duo quickly began to discover the potential of combining their talents to become a two man acoustical group playing in the Kansas City area, cutting their first demo just one year later with the duo harmonizing on vocals, blending guitar and Nate occasionally on dejembe. After appearances at local venues in the Kansas City area, a Chasing 7 fan base developed and the need for the band to grow became evident. From Seattle, Washington comes the rhythmic skill of Benjamin Ogren, satiating the need for percussion and drums adding to the rich vocals and guitar of Chasing 7. A few short weeks after expanding the group, the band made their debut television appearance on WDAF-TV FOX 4, followed by their live debut appearance at Arrowhead Stadium, home of the NFL's Kansas City Chiefs. Capturing the attention of advertising executives, Chasing 7 has formatted selected tracks for promotional projects on DVD and other advertising tools. In June of 2005, Chasing7 won the title of 'Best Band In Kansas City' by winning Mix 93.3 battle of the bands competition. They opened Red, White, and, Boom at Verizon Wireless Ampitheatre on July 2nd. They played with Howie Day, Bowling For Soup, Gavin Degraw, Click 5, and others. The band has just completed their first LP available now and are touring the central United States, negotiating with labels, and creating heart felt music.
