Cherina Mastrantones has studied and performed as a bassist/composer for 20 years. She has studied with such esteemed artists as Micheal Abene, Manny Albans, Kirk Nurock, Reggie Workman, Mike Richmond, Rufus Reed, Dr. Susan Glass, Jackie Byard, Bernard Purdie, Keith Copeland and Dr. Barry Harris. She has performed with Joe Cuba in Japan, Japanese Saxophonist Masa Wada, Grammy artist Joan Osborne, The Kit McClure Big Band, Lynn Oliver Big Band, Harlem Renaissance Big Bnad. She has recorder with PR/NY latin jazz chart winner, Gary Negbaur, Hist Master's Voice, In the Vines. She has released her own compositions on 'Confession' as a solo artists. These are all original compositions which gained her entry into the BMI Jazz Composers Workshop. She has composed numerous pieces for the BMI big band and was a composer in residence at the Oberlin Dance Collective. She has also been a teaching artist for the Orchestra of St. Luke and Brooklyn Philharmonic Orchestra.
