First Friday Song Sampler 2004
The Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago is known throughout the world for it's community involvement in music from around the world. At it's main building in Lincoln Square in Chicago, The Old Town School of Folk Music hosts a variety of classes, concerts, ensembles and workshops. Formed several years ago, the First Friday Songwriters Circle is a group of committed Chicago area singer-songwriters who meet once a month to share new song ideas, critique and offer suggestions, and support songwriting. As part of our work, director Steve Joyner produced a compilation CD of 20 of the members of the Songwriters Circle. This unified yet eclectic mix of musicians and songs is captured on the First Friday Song Sampler 2004. All proceeds from the sale of the CD go to support The Chicago Academy for the Arts, a non-profit arts-focused high school in Chicago. Listen to some great singer-songwriters from Chicago and support young artists at the same time when you buy our First Friday Song Sampler 2004.
