Lose Track of Time
Chicane Theory creates lasting melodies using sonic fabric stretched across a broad spectrum of sound ranging from hauntingly clean guitar and heartfelt vocals, to edgy guitars, driving bass, and aggressive drumming. Nicholas Roesler (pronounced RACE-ler) began experimenting with guitar-driven songwriting and also began to discover his voice after moving to Minneapolis in 2001. After recording ideas in his humble home studio, Nick enlisted drummer-extrodinare and friend Keith Larsen to move forward with the project. Keith added drum tracks during a two-day session at The Den Recorders in Pasadena, CA. One of the songs from this session, 'Decision,' was chosen for Rift Magazine's (Minneapolis, MN) first CD compilation. Spurred by the attention that the Rift CD was creating, Nick played live acoustic shows, then birthed an electric band line-up with Casey Virock and Jeff Bahr. Chicane Theory played dozens of midwest music venues, provided tour support for Adam Franklin (Swervedriver) and an international music festival. In 2007, 'Decision' was included on Broadjam.com's College Credit 101: Singer/Songwriter CD. The disc has been played on hundreds of radio stations nationwide. The song was also licensed to use in Lifetime Television, Oxygen, and MTV network series. Chicane Theory's debut EP Lose Track of Time was released in 2008 earned playtime on over 200 radio stations across North America (charting as high as #2 add for some CMJ stations). The band has also appeared on TV shows such as KARE 11's Showcase Minnesota and FOX9 as well as featured radio guests on stations stretching from Minneapolis, MN to Fairbanks, AK. In 2010, 'Fuzzy' was chosen by TV bigwigs for future consideration in multiple network series.
