After 10 years of music and ministry, the rockin' girls of Chickband are still writing, recording and leading worship to congregations everywhere. This all female band has the energy and motivation necessary to bring people to a place of worship. January 2008 marks the bands 10th year of serving with their gifts in diverse venues such as Sunday worship services, women's retreats, rally's, festivals, weekend conferences, street ministries and even prisons. The band is "super high-energy" and dynamic. They have represented nearly every type of woman: single, single mom, young married, and married with children and range in age from 27-47! Not only are their lives and life experiences diverse, their worship also varies from contemporary pop to gospel to rock. A terrific success, the band released their first worship CD in 2004. In November 2007, the band released a new CD that blends familiar worship choruses like 'You Are Good' with new high energy renditions of hymns and traditional songs such as "Take My Life" and "Stand Up on Your Feet". In addition to these favorites, the girls added original songs including "After the Fire", "You are Faithful", "I Will Give You My Praise" (a song recorded with worship leaders from all over Las Vegas to celebrate 10 years of Chickband history) and more. Other new arrangements add their own blend of spice to the project such as a remake of the 70's hit song "Love is the Answer" which includes rap artist Ginisis and background vocals by the Richardson Sisters. The new CD, Complete Me: Mission Possible, is not only a great worship experience, it brings more energy and more passion then ever before. The album engages the many people who have been a part of Chickband history and celebrates the outreach that they are so passionate about doing, some of which include women suffering from addiction, abuse and incarceration. The title track "Complete Me" shares the heart and struggle of all these women, regardless of their circumstances and choices. If only we could see ourselves the way God sees us, then we would be truly content. Though the group has already received great response from their experiences hosting citywide women's conferences in Las Vegas, retreats and special events in California, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Wisconsin and Virginia and large conferences featuring nationally acclaimed speakers such as Liz Curtis Higgs, Sheila Walsh, Nicole Johnson, Dee Brestin and Robin Gunn (Sisterchicks), there is a desire to spread the ministry of women's worship even further. The arrival of 2008 also brings a new year for the Chickband as they kick off their non-profit company, Chickband Ministries, Inc. The anticipation of reaching wider into the rural areas of America; reaching farther to mission opportunities overseas such as Uganda, Thailand and England; reaching higher, seeking to capture the will of the Father as they minister to military families and those serving in time of war; and reaching deeper into the heart of Christ as they engage in more ministry opportunities in prisons, shelters, urban areas and to the homeless of our cities.
