Criminal Side of the Builder
In December, Christopher Kimble released his first full-length record ~ 'Criminal Side of the Builder'. Christopher Kimble is originally from Michigan. He grew up in Ann Arbor, as well as a small northern town on the water. Throughout the last few years he has called New York City, Washington D.C., and Buenos Aires, Argentina his home. Each of these places, along with numerous other factors, has helped define and blur the influences found in his music - an organic blend of americana, country, folk, rock and punk. Think of Neil Young, the Misfits, the Band, Elvis Costello, Gram Parsons and Johnny Cash in a sandwich. Christopher describes his music as 'indie folk-country-punk. You know - some acoustic, some electric ... country-tinged stuff with a punk rock attitude, and punk rock type stuff with a country attitude. I wear cowboy boots, so that should stand for something. It feels like americana (whatever that really means) - country, folk, rockabilly, punk, indie, pop... whatever. The new album is kind of all over the place stylistically, but the songs really work well together.' "The 4th card of the Major Arcana is The Emperor, and the force of his authority cannot be questioned. Putting things together to make them work...building systems...is his forte. However, he who has no desire to contribute to society will make an excellent criminal, successfully circumventing the establishment... '
