Citizen Folk, a Montreal based rock indie band, has just completed their first independently released 7 song EP entitled "My Friends...". It's members include Vince, on vocals and guitar; Victor on drums and percussion, and Nick on bass. The original music that this trio performs is an interesting blend of Canadian rock with a British edge. It has been described as "The Clash meets Gin Blossoms meets Tom Cochrane". Vince and Victor, brothers, have been relentless in maintaining the positive movement of this project through many unforeseen obstacles. Nick, a childhood friend, came on board to complete the band. These three musicians bring to Citizen Folk a vast and varied musical background and experience. Vince, the front man and songwriter, is an experienced guitarist, composer, and singer. In the early 90's, he co-founded his first group, "Fuel Dogs". In 1995, with numerous gigs under their belts, the band shortened their name to "Fuel" and released their full length independent CD entitled "Sleeping Awake". The project received high praise with commercial and university air play supported by an Ontario and Quebec tour. With Fuel having gone it's separate ways, Vince went on to study music completing a Masters Degree in guitar at McGill University. Victor, who's solid drumming style reflects his different musical influences and range of genres. Victor has a varied musical background, having played with many different musicians, gigging the wedding circuit followed by clubs, schools and outdoor venues. During his University days, he enjoyed playing stage shows, parties and pubs eventually getting involved with studio session drumming. Nick has been playing guitar for the better part of his life. In the early years he co-wrote songs with Vince but later went on a different musical path. Always continuing to expand his musical endeavours, Nick took on a new challenge and decided to master the bass. Citizen Folk's high energy, melodic hooks will undoubtedly bring excitement to today's live music scene!
