Just Hitting My Prime
Born in New York City I began playing in Greenwich Village in the early 1970s at the world renowned Gerde's Folk City. Playing guitar in the band Tom Intondi and Hard Times and studying guitar with David Cohen from Country Joe's band. That was my apprenticeship into the business. I have been writing songs and poetry ever since. I have played many venues worldwide advocating peace and a clean planet. From Greenpeace events to college gigs to peace rallies. I have played in over twenty countries and an equal number of states. In 1986 I began volunteering with humanitarian organizations and by 2001 I was working as a professional in the field and feeding over 6,000,000 children in 16 countries via my ability to write grants and my will to make a difference. My travels have taken me to many countries on 5 continents. From the massacre in Rwanda to the Tsunami in Indonesia I was there. During those years I played less as time was limited. Now it is time for me and my songs. I am influenced by the 60's music: Dylan, Ochs, Taj, Crosby, Stills and Nash but mostly I have my own home grown sound. I play a kind of freewheeling, strong acoustic rock/blues style with a little bosa nova thrown in for it's heat. I play solo or with my band which can be from 3 to 7 players. I am a singer songwriter writing in the classic folk-rock tradition with some bossa nova and blues thrown in. I play acoustic guitar, harmonica and some mandolin. My latest project had great back up musicians but I've played and recorded as a solo and as a duo. My music can be played solo or orchestrated. I write songs about love, the environment, peace and life.
