Product Notes

COLM HEANEY & the bad Djs Colm Heaney...Words & Music Ray Fagan...Bass Guitar Graham Dunne...Thunderous noise Discography: Exploits of Heroes & Villains - © 2004 Landing Productions Ten Foot Tall - © 2008 Landing Productions (Coming Soon) One of the signatory tracks 'Some Time Soon' reached the final of the John Lennon song writing contest. The album, although independently released, received airplay on both sides of the Atlantic, from KCRW in LA on the critically acclaimed 'Morning becomes Eclectic' with Nic Harcourt to the BBC in the UK. The album showcases one cover, a jazz version of 'Dancing in The Moonlight' by the legendary Thin Lizzy. Dancing played on RTE radio and received many plaudits from Lizzy fans spanning from fan clubs to Phil's wonderful mum Philomena. While supporting acts like The Pretenders, Colm & the Dj's have continued to work hard on the Dublin & Ireland Circuit while also touring Germany and the UK. In Dublin magazine: Dublin based singer/songwriter Colm Heaney has just released a hugely impressive debut. Unlike most self-financed efforts, Heaney's long-player plays comfortably alongside any heavily marketed CD on offer these days, not least with it's shiny production values. That aside, Heaney also just happens to be immensely talented. His songwriting knack is obvious. However, it is his ability to diversify within folk and contemporary rock that seems frighteningly effortless, all whilst showcasing a pitch perfect croon. The Doors rip rocker sort of somewhere else is an easy pleaser. A token anthem holler comes in the form of the ethereal country tinge have you ever lost something that you've never found. Great stuff - buy it. Pittsburgh Tribune Review: Heaney, whose intricate guitar picking and smoky, moody voice brings to mind a young Mark Knopfler. Gerry Anderson BBC UK: Colm Heaney is one to watch...a fantastic debut album.
