You Are Mine
The year was 1981. Inspired by the Second Vatican Council and the Holy Spirit, a treasure of wonderful, Spirit-filled music was written for guitar and shared by many priests, monks, sisters, and lay people. St. Anthony\'s decided to designate a mass in the lower church to include the \'new\' music. Within a short period of time it was recognized that contemporary worship music was a very meaningful expression of faith. Participation was such that the \'folk mass\' was moved to the upper church. The \'folk group\' evolved and changed...members coming and going, leaving and returning. At one time when the group only consisted of Jim Delaney, Rob Finger, and Mitch Long, they were affectionately called Peter, Paul, and Mario. At the prompting of the parishoners a CD was released in 1996. At that time the group decided to take on the name of one of the songs it sang, \'Companions on a Journey\'. After all, we are all companions on this journey called life, which we hope is a daily celebration of our relationship with God. The group continues to transform and we\'re delighted that the youth of St Anthony\'s have also contributed their time and talents to our worship on Sunday mornings and the production of this CD. We hope to continue growing so others can carry the torch. Several in our group have faced great difficulties over the past several months and years. We\'ve also witnessed great tragedy in our nation and shared in the sorrow experienced by many parishioners who lost loved ones or experienced illness. But through everything, we\'ve held on to these songs to inspire us to be filled with the joy and strength God provides. We can hear God telling us tenderly, \'You are Mine\'.
