Half a Nicotine Patch a Quarter Tank of Gas Seven
It should be noted that this album is Dan Barbeau's third installment to a growing catalog that I like to call, The Library That Will Feed His Posthumous Fame. Fans will tell you (or would, if we could find those two) that Half a Nicotine Patch, etc, is his best and most accessible album yet, suitable for mixed company in nearly every type of setting, excluding of course colonoscopy procedures and interventions. This young troubadour's every-man quality of writing leans to the somber side of life and is delivered in a big, pleasing voice reminiscent of Mr. Elvis Presley. Joined on this outing by guitar-phenomenon Dave Knerler, (try to keep your mouth closed when you hear him tear it up on 'Stay') Barbeau has presented us with a disc suitable for affixing to the turntable with the sealant of your choice. Put it on, never take it off.
