Dan Strauss is a singer/songwriter from Brooklyn, NY who dips his feet into a variety of musical waters to create songs that could be described as indie-folk, country, pop and rock. But mostly the songs combine all of those styles as Dan's love of music crosses into many genres. Rich in the influential writing of artists like Nick Drake, Gram Parsons, The Band, Elvis Costello, Wilco, Hank Williams, and The Beatles, Dan writes openly and expressively about life, love and occasionally, his own musical instruments. The rich, intimate vocals and honest, thoughtful lyrics draw listeners in as they find Dan singing about the very real experiences of life. 'Circles', Dan's third release, is a CD that harkens back to a day when albums and CDs were meant to be played from beginning to end, not on shuffle. There is a story here. There is a "feel". Dan's music keeps growing as he continues to draw from the inspiration of the endless array of music he enjoys.
