Back to Me
With the release of Back to Me, the debut from Darren J., the guitarist/vocalist engages the blues/rock scene strapped with his high energy, lay it down dirty, high octane music from the soul. His new release, and first ever on his own, is just a small step into what is to become. 'I am eager and excited for the future,' Darren enthuses. 'I have waited all my life to do things on my own and this is my chance.' Darren, who is primarily self-taught, has been playing guitar since he was 15 years of age and just as of late started taking singing and songwriting seriously. 'I once read, (I actually think it was the book Caught in the Crossfire), that Stevie Ray Vaughan was once told early on that you not only have to play but you got to also sing.' 'I'm taking that to heart and branching out on my own and doing everything I can to be better as a musician.' The approach to Back to Me is somewhat of a simple concept for Darren. His initial intention is to establish credibility by reaching out to as many people as he can. The songs showcase what Darren's capable of doing and what his music can eventually evolve to. The style of the songs are also very influenced by his idols - Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan. All his songs were written, recorded, mixed and mastered by Darren. Everything up to the design of CD cover and his website. 'It has been a beautiful journey filled with late nights and countless hours of dedication and sweat.' 'I am very proud, I'm hungry for more, and I am ready to back up my music with a band.'
