Purpose in Your Pain
Biography of David Faison "In spite of my circumstances, I will worship you in the dances, through sign and mimes we praise you and with the lives we live we raise you" are lyrics in "That's What True Worship Is". These words articulate the heart of a new recording artist and worshipper, David L. Faison. Born in 1981 in Ahoskie, NC, only twenty seconds after his twin Jonathan, and eighth out of ten children, David began to experience an upbringing deeply rooted in the things of God. Exposure to praise and worship through church proved to be the catalyst that ignited the discovery, exploration and development of his own contribution to the art of music for God's glory. David began to cultivate the gifts he inherited from a family of singers, musicians and preachers. To that end, at an early age he conquered the drums; at age 11, the saxophone; and progressed to the bass guitar by the age of 13. For the last 7 years, his cadre of skills has grown to include the keyboard, as well as writing, recording, producing, mixing and mastering music. It's signature through each project that all lyrics, vocals and accompaniment were written arranged, recorded and produced by David. His style, inspired by John P Kee and Fred Hammond is eclectic; but provokes an atmosphere for worship and relentless praise. David's first CD, titled 'Psalms of David', recorded in 2003 has a variety of worship, Christian rap and contemporary tunes. God has favored him to open concerts for various artists such as Hezekiah Walker, Karen Clark Sheard, Alvin Slaughter, Smokie Norful and Lisa McClendon. It was also his esteem pleasure to work closely with Pastor John P. Kee which resulted in a live recording. David is presently a licensed minister; serving as the music minister at Soul Saving Station in Ahoskie, North Carolina. His latest album released, May 2005, titled 'Purpose in your Pain, serenades listeners to take courage in knowing that calamity is not futile. Hearers will thrive when they apprehend the premise that despite life's discomforts, worship is not just what we do; it's how we live, survive and abound. With a humble spirit and the word of God deeply ingrained in his heart, David prays to see souls saved for the kingdom of God. He's not just another gospel singer, he is truly an anointed minister of music that connects spirit to spirit for worship. I do thank you for sowing into my ministry by purchasing this album and writing a very encouraging review. God Bless you, and remember there's 'Purpose in your Pain'.
