Boom Boom Boom Da Da Da
'Boom Boom Boom Da Da Da' is a clever and intriguing debut from an exciting new indie band from Asheville, NC. Songwriter David Clegg tackles powerful and emotional folk rock ballads such as 'Lizzy' with the same lyrical distinction and aptitude as humorous and light-hearted songs such as 'My Neighbor' and 'Basketball' While primarily an acoustic guitar album, it includes it's fair share of skilled musicianship. 'Flowers on Your Lips' builds well into a stirring harmonica solo, and 'Wishy Washy' finds it's way on to the full length with a more traditional rock band sound than the folkie arrangements that make up the majority of the record. However, this is a very eclectic record, you will even find a very short ode to the chocolate drink Yoo Hoo, and the liner notes even hold a rather interesting correspondence between Clegg and a representative of Yoo Hoo. These 16 tracks introduce The Davids as a band that knows how to skillfully write a song, but doesn't always take themselves very seriously.
