Check Yo Swagg (Single)
DELONEY ushered in a new breed of musical heroism. He is a musical prodigy, he's a funky musical innovator who remarkably drops sounds and rhythms like their seasonings being shaken down to make a spicy gumbo of hype beats... Meet DELONEY. This wildly creative St. Louis, Missouri native unleashed some of the industry's most addictive beats and hooks in 2009. Those beats will stick to the brains of music lovers for years to come! As a one man music army, DELONEY, born Brandon Mahammad Deloney to musically innovative parents in their own right, plays guitar, piano and keyboards along with his unique vocal delivery. DELONEY wrote, composed and produced his single releases over the years and has branched out doing collaborations with other underground artists such as HazeMunny and Chase Dolla to name a few. Hot producer, Nekjerka, says why he likes Deloney's music simply because, 'It's different'. 'Check Yo Swagg' became the fellas' anthem, with the hard edge guitar, addictive chorus and entertaining lyricism. 'Girl 99' is a head-nodder that will keep your ear to the speaker to hear just how humorously creative DELONEY delivers the verses of the honeys that have come in and out of his life from his perspective at 19 years. This single is pure creativity and fun. This gift was definitely in his genes. "I saw Wil [Dad] playing the guitar and always thought he was cool, so I wanted to play. I got a guitar for Christmas when I was 10 and have been playing ever since then." He took over his mother's keyboard at 11 and that was the birth of DELONEY's music. His biological father was a national recording artist in the 80's and his Dad, mother's husband, was his 'Jimi Hendrix' hero, teaching him those fierce guitar licks at a ripe young age and gave him his first guitar and the rest is DELONEY history. Other influences come from the industry from the East and West coast and the South, which include Jay-Z, Lil' John, Dr. Dre, Pharrell, Lil' Jon, Jazze Pha, Wutang, Busta Rhymes, Young Jeezy, Carlos Santana, Slayer, Metallica...and many more. Waiel "Wally" Yaghnam, producer of hits such as "#1" (Training Day soundtrack by Nelly) has jammed with DELONEY on occasion and provided initial guidance about the music industry. Ian Eddy, front man of the rock band Leo, says 'DELONEY is a promising new talent. He is gifted on many levels.' So, how do we describe this funky blended sound? DELONEY called his sound "Hip-Hop/Rapcore' - which is a fusion of rap and rock. The bottom line is, you need to listen - and within seconds, you're hooked and you know his music has got 'it'! Although his style has transitioned and grown over the years to current day, these are clearly classics to remember from the artist in his youth. Not only is DELONEY a future trailblazer in music, he's successfully 'blazed' in other arenas, literally. DELONEY is an artist that paints and draws where his work won a scholarship contest for college. DELONEY is also a record holding College Track Star who has set records in his blaze of speed as a member of the Southern Illinois University - Carbondale Salukis Track Team, where he was on scholarship. DELONEY also was the 2008 Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Most Outstanding Track Athlete recipient (as a freshman), has broken a stadium record for the 200 meters and the accolades truly go on and on...till the break of dawn...just like his music beats! Yes, we have seen a lot of CHANGE in politics, economy, global warming...and music...and on the music tip..that change was good and DELONEY continues to be one of the many reasons why it's that way. Welcome to the music of DELONEY - get ready for the ride baby...this is gonna be good...just sit back and check his swagg.
