White Horse Road
Majestic slo-mo acoustic duo Dirtbird feature David M. Lewis (guitar and vocals) and Cathy English (cello and vocals). The dark, visionary songs they conjure from the ether are unsettling and unique. Influences range from Neil Young to Low and Gillian Welch, but their ethereal warmth and sheer otherworldliness is all their own. Their second album, White horse Road, was recorded with producer/engineer Richard Pleasance in Central Victoria, Australia, and features a couple of subtle additions to their live sound, such as a dobro, autoharp and occasional double bass, but is mainly a true rendition of the smoky stripped-back sparseness of their live shows.
