All's Well Enough
This 2006 release combines the meticulous pop songwriting of the Lemke brothers with a raw, urgent, stripped-down atmosphere. The songs vary from 'Losing Time,' which begins as a sparse acoustic track and builds into a stomping guitar pop anthem, to 'Ghosts,' a hushed and tiptoeing ballad with violins filtering in from the house next door. Snarling guitar riffs on 'The Longest Night' give way to warm, aching folk on 'Inside the Walls,' which in turn segues into the organ-driven, almost funereal chill of 'The Best Revenge.' Suburban winter desolation sounds like The Disparities. This version of the album includes all fourteen original songs, plus five demo tracks recorded during preparation for the album. It also features extensive notes by band member/producer Oliver Lemke.
