Hell Up in Harlem 2
From the summer block parties in Harlem to controlling some of the hottest dance floors in the country, Dj GetOnUp's rise to stardom has taken on a life and a story all it's own. Once a rising high school basketball star, 'GetOnUp' was sidelined after an injury. 'I just decided to turn that negative into the biggest positive for myself', 'GOU' continues, 'and that's when I found DJing'. After linking up with a friend who had turntables, 'GetOnUp' found his love while perfecting his craft. At age 20, he hit the party circuit and set the streets on fire, his ability to bring his east coast 'Swagger' and infuse it with the hottest Hip-Hop, R and B, and Old School from across the country makes him a problem for those who plan to stick to their seats at his parties. 'That's why my name couldn't be better', jokes 'GetOnUp'. After co-founding StreetHeat Inc. In 2004, 'GOU' has elevated his game. In October 2004, he released 'Hell Up In Harlem' Vol.1, the first in a series of compilation albums aimed at exposing the unsigned heat in the streets. 'GetOnUp' has solidified a spot on the underground with various releases distributed across the country. You can catch him spinning in the clubs of his hometown of NYC, as well as New Jersey, Connecticut, Georgia, and all the way out to Hawaii to name a few. At the young age of 25, 'GetOnUp' is poised to make you dance, while changing the game. Dj GetOnUp, HELL UP IN HARLEM Volume 2, and 'THE MOVEMENT' are here.
